Kinsole Trestle today as part of the Trans Canada Trail, high above the Koksilah River, the historic Kinsol Trestle offers a spectacular recreational route to hikers, runners, cyclists and horseback riders. Its 44-metre-high, 187-metre-long walkway connects the village of Shawnigan Lake and the District of North Cowichan.

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated."

Kinsol Trestle outside of Shawinigan Lake BC as it was in the above photo in approx. 1958.

Construction was started in 1911 by the Canadian Northern Pacific Railway and was the largest wooden trestle in the Commonwealth and one of the highest railway trestles in the world.
